...Opening today, May 26, the n ew Steuben Tavern at 42nd Street and Broadway, designed and planned by Simon B. Zelnick, built on t he s i t e where once stood the John L. Norton homestead of what was then "The Hermitage" farm, which Stretched ' from 38th Street on Broadway to 48th Street, west to the Hudson River, brings to a culmination a building deal involving $350,000 that has been in the making since July, 1933...
