...Freeing the Government' But the most penetrating observation on the direction of Turn Toward Peace and the one that gives us highest hopes for its ultimate success is the concept of the proximate goal of the movement expressed by Pickus (and this is his emphasis): "It will provide a base for a peace movement capable of freeing the government for creative action...
...No one who has followed its deliberations and decisions can fail to have grievances against the organization...
...It seems inconceivable that the statesmen of the United Nations can hope to achieve a formula to end the arms race without including Communist China, which is today the world's most populous nation, presently the most aggression-minded, and potentially the most dangerous military power on earth...
